messing around with the site

though this site is still relatively new i feel like i really ought to have written more on here by now. i've made monthly articles since the beginning of the site, in which i review the media i checked out each month, and though i love writing those it made things a little constrained for me, like i HAD to write about EVERYTHING even if i didn't have much to actually say. considering this, i wanna make changes to how i write on here, in the hopes of being more consistent and allowing myself to write the stuff i want to.

the media diary as it is won't continue, though i want to take this chance to mess around and find what works best for me. going forward i'd like to instead write individual articles about the stuff i wanna write about, and generally just RELAX a little. i wanna do more, and to do so, i need to break out of the format i've been working with for over a year.

this doesn't mean a LOT is gonna change, really, but it's clear to me that there's probably a reason why i found it so hard to write on here last year that, aside from the media diary, i only wrote three articles. i'm not gonna force myself to pump out even more articles or anything, but i just wanna write more and so i'll be working on the site to better suit that. everything has been kinda stagnant on here for too long, and with the ways the internet is currently fluctuating and malforming and getting messed up, it's more important than ever to have a personal outlet. if you're reading this, i'd also recommend making your own website, this shit is fun.

yesterday i posted the site's first news article about the nintendo switch 2 reveal -- i'm not sure how common news posts are gonna be, but since i don't talk about new videogames very much on my youtube channel or anything i thought it'd be neat to be able to write about current events even just as a personal practice. with this, posts are gonna be split into particular categories -- i'll figure out what they are as i go, but right now i'm planning on separating news posts, reviews and regular blogs, if only to be able to organize them.

there'll be some other changes to the site soon as well, i'm planning on editing stuff gradually so i'll just do one bit at a time. i'm thinking about adding new pages. i might even change the font!!!
